The homeowner path to purchase relies heavily on word of mouth, but word of mouth is evolving as millennials enter homeownership. More than half of homeowners and trade professionals say that today, word of mouth also includes online home service platforms.
Major players like Houzz, HomeAdvisor, Angie’s List and Pinterest are touch points along the customer journey. But they aren’t the only platforms that have an influence, especially when it comes to millennials. In fact, millennials are seven to eight times more aware of newer, non-traditional online home service platforms like Thumbtack and Porch.
