As the director of public relations and content marketing at Wray Ward, Heather is responsible for even more than brand launches, news media relations, special events, crisis communications and employee relations for national, regional and local brands. Heather understands how consumers rely on a combination of earned, owned, shared and paid media for the information that drives their brand loyalties and purchasing habits. And, she uses that knowledge to develop and manage programs that engage with target audiences in ways that deliver the desired impact – from awareness to driving sales.
During her 15 years with Wray Ward, Heather has worked directly with clients including Belgard Hardscapes, Crescent Communities, Duke Energy, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Rack Room Shoes, Springmaid and Wamsutta.
A New York native, Heather began her career as a newspaper reporter before joining The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va. She also spent time in the sports marketing arena at IMG, helping clients including AT&T, Bank of America, Hendrick Motorsports and UPS leverage their Olympic and NASCAR sponsorships through public relations and events.
Heather holds a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University (N.Y.) and earned her master’s degree in public relations from Rowan University (N.J.). Named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, Heather is a graduate of the Arts & Science Council’s Cultural Leadership Training program and is a volunteer classroom instructor for Junior Achievement.
